Pumpkin Picking in Bergen County, NJ

Whether you prefer horse rides or hayrides, fresh-baked donuts or pies, pumpkin lattes or apple cider, at least one of these patches are sure to suit your interests.

Abma’s Farm: Wyckoff

This farm is family-run by the Abmas, and is Bergen County’s only produce and poultry farm. Don’t just stop by for some great pumpkin picking in NJ – visit their petting zoo and take a hayride through their fields (available Saturdays in October from 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.). But their true pride and joy is the variety of goods they offer for sale, including poultry and eggs from their chickens, daily baked goods, crafts and candles, wine and decorative plants.

Demarest Farms: Hillsdale

Demarest Farms truly offers some good ol’ fashioned fall fun for all ages. Visitors can go pumpkin picking Monday through Friday from 3 p.m.-4:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. You can purchase a $5 ticket that includes a hayride and a farm animal visit, plus a pumpkin you can pick for an additional low fee.

Want more fall fun? Demarest Farms has tractor-pulled hay wagon rides, Halloween decorations for sale and farm animals that visitors can pet and feed. Plus, if you bring your own pots and choose your desired plant, they’ll plant them for you while you wait! And don’t forget the refreshments – in addition to the classics (like cider donuts, apple butter and jams), you can also purchase specialty foods like potato pancakes and rotisserie chicken.

Rohsler’s Allendale Nursery and Florist: Allendale

As the oldest family-owned nursery in Bergen County, Rohsler’s is more than just your typical place for pumpkin picking in NJ. On weekends through November 1, visitors can purchase hayride tickets that include a pumpkin and a cup of apple cider per person. Plus, they offer pony rides on weekends for children, and a variety of flowers for sale, including daffodils and tulips. They also offer gardening and landscaping services among other forms of assistance – this really is your one-stop shop for fall activities and garden upkeeping.

Secor Farms: Mahwah

Open seven days a week, Secor Farms is available whenever you want to get your pumpkin fix. Visitors can purchase hayride tickets for a scenic ride around the farm, past their pond and fall decorations, out to the pumpkin patch and corn maze. Looking for more kid-friendly activities? Check out their petting zoo, hay maze and corn box for children, and buy your family and friends lunch on the weekends for a picnic at the farm. Secor also sells decorations (like gourds, mums and Halloween decor) and treats (like apple cider, donuts and candy apples).
