Blondies are rich, sweet dessert bars resembling the traditional chocolate brownie, but substituting vanilla for cocoa, and containing brown sugar. Chewy, rich, and flavorful blondies are an indulgent dessert that are hard to resist!
- 1/2 cup of soft margarine (from a tub), melted
- 1 cup tightly packed light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup egg substitute
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup flour
- 1/8 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2 Spray a square pan (8×8) with cooking spray and lightly flour it. Whisk together the melted margarine and sugar in a bowl. Add egg substitute and vanilla extract and whisk. Add the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt, and mix it all together.
3 Add in the semi-sweet chocolate chips. Spread the batter evenly in the pan.
4 Bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
5 Allow to cool, cut and enjoy.
